View Full Version : Character: Cyclops
SimianLogic 03-14-2004, 06:56 PM I tend to forget there are other forums besides the LW forum. I've been posting updates of my cyclops character without much feedback. I'd love to get some comments on which route to take with his costume. That thread is here (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=125772) .
Here's the most current pic of the cyclops:

i think you need to spend time to fix your character and the proportion. you need to see more reference and you need to have reference beside you when you are working or you can rotoscopy the reference image to your view. so you can get exactly correct proportion. Hope you getting improve.
Please show wireframe so i can share idea with you for the line flow.

What, specifically, is bothering you about the proportions. I'm not going for photorealism (you can probably tell), but I'm glad to take pointers if there's something bugging you about it.
Here's a proportion comparison and some wires:

It's me again, Hope you don't mind!!
Actually, I'm a Modeler and i just graduated at VFS.
when i see your model wireframe, I can see that you didnt' fix the line flow. You know, when you add a edge you need to move all the point a little bit ( at least). now you can see your character body part (edge) is all horizontal you need to make it smooth. your character leg need to spend time for it coz it's not enough edge. you know your character is high detail for head, hand, and feet. i think you need to make more detail for the body. Please fix the shoulder part and the arm part. Between the Breast and the arm part is not so good. I hope you can fix it. it's flat that part. the neck is flat, the leg is flat, and the arm also it's flat.
I just tell the truth, you need to work really hard to make it good. Although you don't follow the proportion, you can animate this character perfectly. The ear you need to fix it if you want to make detail. If you want to make it good, you need to use different angle to check every point is it correct or not!! you understand what i mean!! Hope you can improve !!!
