View Full Version : Beast of Burden - Character/Contraption - opiate
opiate 07-05-2002, 09:21 AM hey everyone. this is my first post!
http://da4.figaming.com/RyanM/packbunny2.jpg
I'll be making a LOT of changes to this design. The major changes include broadening the tail, arching the back forward, and broadening the ankles. I'll also be adding lots of buckles and straps and various cowbells :)
He/She will be pulling an entire village of nomads, I think. We'll see. I want it to look like more of a slow, grazing animal. Any ideas?
Much love.

here's another idea I've been messing around with. I kinda want to stay away from the typical large, bulky pack animal. I'm not sure of what exactly is up with the rabbit theme though.
I gotta decide on which direction I'm taking quickly. I need to start modelling this thing soon!
must...have...feedback...

I love the blue sketch. That is an awesome pic. I really like the wagon/cart design. And the BoB looks cool in that one as well.

Nice! I really do like the two legged approach...reminds me of sam keith's Maxx outback kritter the Crabbit. Thats a good thing btw.
Can't wait to see some 3d of this guy.

Hey Gy-an
like the first design of your furry marsupial character , this is just my opinion but I think it would look good if u added another pair of smaller arms to it .
can't wait to see it in 3-d though

oh dude! I had NO idea! I'm SO SO SO sorry!!!
I just took breaver's advice and threw on some more arms (or legs, rather). I just saw your beast now. haven't had time to see many other posts.

Hey man!
Cool ideas, i'll have to go with the blue sketch like most the others... be carefull though if there arent any arms/hands make sure theres enough stuff in the general area to make it interesting.
Tis all for now! lata!

it does look pretty odd without arms, but that's what I was going for :)
I'll try to populate the upper torso with enough chains and belts to relieve some of the bareness, without making it look cluttered. I'm focusing on giving each of the belts/straps a purpose rather than randomly throwing them in.
I'd also like the beast to look majestic and revered by its people, rather than look like a servant. it'll probably need some type of ornate attire or something. I'll figure all of that out once I get the body done.

Heh! I had trouble deciding on a design, too. I think the blue drawing is the best design of the bunch.

and a good thing too! now I can cancel that purification ritual I have scheduled for this friday. I really don't think sleeping inside a dead cow for a week is good for my skin.
