I am getting a weird effect

Could be a couple of things, MR won't render a SubD mesh unless it's all quads. You'll have to do some cleanup on the mesh if you have tri's. You can also try adding a SubD approximation to the surface, that should speed up rendering of it as well.

how do i do the second step you said. Also it is very hard to clean up a car to have all quads. Is there an easy way. THanks for your help.
