for this challenge i may create a creature between a fly with stuck wings and a prehistorik mamifere.
the way to carry heavy weights is a foating platform under the abdomen..

IK setup very basic.
this animal has been captured and equiped as a cargo beast by a very intelligent insect race.
one thing still to choose : how to drive the fly maybe with hooks planted in the fly s face or maybe a special hellmet with spikes inside to make the beast obbey... don t know yet
i will begin the insect "driver"
and more ...... a precison about the links around the wings that are tied, it is an exclusive technology for long cargo flys.
they always do that while cargo is being loaded for security reasons.then they move the node so that the beast could take off

Is the driver going to steer by smacking the bob upside the head?
That's really nice. I like the aesthetic of the driver, and the 'hands' of the BoB.

i ll now model some HEAVY houses that the fly ll carry ....

or maybe something is wrong i translated again the challenge ,iall looks ok and i seem to be awaken...

not much 2 crit really, love that pose the drivers in... but where is that driver gonna sit ??? he's gonna get spikes up it's @rse...
the BoB seems 2 have excessive eyes in my mind but apart from that and maybe 2 small a head...
nice style :thumbsup:, loved u're last works btw...

this is a quiky composition(out of challenge) to have an idea about the flyind dock, and i didn t choose yet the flying command system..
i modeled some wooden nidacore containers that are carried by the cargo.

like your work. nice idea on that platform. looks like there is a small house on this. can we get a closeup.
only crit for now is that this rope around his wings is kinda ugly and boxystyle. knowwhatimean?

This is looking kickass. Love the degree of detail and staging of the platform. The little handler/worker guy is great too. :thumbsup:
Only things I can think of to mention at the moment are, are those wings big enough? Even with the bumblebee theory, it just doesn't seem like they'd get him airborne. Also, how does he hold his legs while flying, and would that do severe damage to the platform?
With the degree of planning and thought going into this, I figure you've got that covered, just thought I'd ask :)

hummm well :)
i wil add a launching ramp like space shuttles that can open wings links, this ramp will be fixed on the ground landing base.
for the arms a sliding bar will be added but the BOB is advised if it touche the platform it ll be punished by a neurotic poison injection that is contained in the driver weapon.. :]
sorry for this but the fact is that the wings seems to small maybe i should add another couple ..i will change this.

Cool, nice addition of the launching ramp! My only "crit" could be that the head could use some more definition.(so does the body also I believe)

I like the change to the head. I think you should also add in that tube-like sucker mouth piece that flys have. You could have the BoB use it to load smaller cargo onto the platform. :)
The scafolding around the beast looks awesome.

i will add some more muscle definition and head details (but my graphic card is getting hot yet)
concerning the sucking tube i made it first but i have to keep a really small head and so i deleted it .
i will render a mouth closeup and u will see that in fact the mouth interior is full a theeves .

i started to add some muscle details and finished head.
i think it s looking rather good like this.
now i have to make a choice about the driving control system:
1/ hooks planted in bob s head
2/hellmet with spikes inside also on the bob s head

really frightening stuff! very good modelling but i feel kinda strange 'bout the feet and the wings. the feet look very static and that they aren't connected to the ground. and the wings should be more seperated from the body-like a fly's one.
i'd love to see this one textured and animated. :thumbsup:

This is turning out really really great.
I love the flash page you are doing for your test anmations. It is a great idea to do it like that.
The various loading platforms and scaffolding next to and beneath the BoB are incredable. Awesome work so far. :applause:

it is my own process a bit more clean but quiet more heavy to download....

I really love this. I like the enviroment you have your BoB in. I think it really works because everything in the enviroment has to do with the BoB. Only crit would be to work on that bump for the loading dock.

wow, that's an awesome original idea!! Only comment, I think the cloth on top of the tower needs to be tied down, and maybe the ladders could be "in motion" effected by the wind. Great one, can't wait for the finshed version!:cool:

Wow, I missed a bunch of stuff! That's awesome. I love all the structures and etc. etc. can never have enough. :thumbsup:
It doesn't sound like anything rule breaking..I don't know that they ever said anything you can't have extra, once you have the beast and things required..handlers, sub beasts..I dunno. Wing it. I just want to see more of this stuff. :D

The only crit I can give you is this:
Right now there is no reason for the scaffolding to be so tall. I see the crane device you have, but it's connected quite low on the scaffolding. I would suggest you give it a reason for being so tall. Don't get me wrong, I like it tall, I think it fits well in the piece like that. It just needs a reason for being that way, even if all you do is place a couple of guys up there with binoculars who are on look out duty.

the scaffolding is a tower control in fact so it must be quiet tall :)))
that is my idea:
the guys (beast and pilots) are mercenaries in long cargo flies.
this is the base and the flying dock in particular (for take off).
i m now modelling small scarabs not much inteligent that ll work around so i have to skin and to give 5/7 generic positions.
and zero1 -- > sure there ll be a scarab on top looking around !!
