That's a really good model. The black color you have chosen however takes away alot of the detail and makes the render flat looking. Maybe try red, white or silver to bring out more detail.
It would benifit from a manufacturer's badge and licence plates etc as well.
Is it an original design?
All the best. :)

It is the overpowered MG XPower SV isn't it?! Very good modelling but I must agree with TOBER about the color. The dark color takes alot of detail away. Or do you have something to hide :p

the air vents behind the front wheel have to be chromy, not?

That's right, it's the MG XPower SV, a nice ride. I'll render another color tomorrow, see how that looks.
Thanks for the fast crits guys, much appreciated.

Nice model....the chrome wheels look like a plastic texture right now.Is there a detail missing from your model.....that scooped out area at the lower right area of the door as seen in the real photo`s.

damn... I think you won't like me, but I have to model this car, too! :D

nice car. very good modeling. it would be easier to see the model if you used another color on the body. perhaps a blueish color?

Hey, thanks for the comments. Here's a render of a red version, better or worse?
http://web.utk.edu/~tnemeth/MG%20XPower%20SV_red.jpg
Bredro1: The scoop in the door is there, you should see it better in this new render. How do the rims look now, tried making them more metallic.
cucaracha: Please do, I'd love to see someone elses take on it.
Daniel: The air vents are black on most versions of the car, tried making them more metallic though. Thanks for noticing.

Very nice, what reference did you use, I wanted to model this car when I first saw it. But the reference material was non existant. Only a few photos of the car where available and they where all angle shots??

wow, looks fantastic :D
may i ask what modeling technique you used? i'm modeling a z4 right now and im stuck on whether to use poly- (already tried this a few times, but didn't finish them cause i didn't have the time), patch- (i've already got the splinecage so that would help here - not too sure bout the edges though) or nurbs- (never done this before) modeling. :)
anyway, have you ever thought of putting your car into an environment? i think it would look fantastic on a race track or sth. :D

phoenix2k: I used polymodeling. I really like this method because it gives me the most control, whether I need hard edges or curved surfaces.
I might put it in an environment or do a short animation if I can find the time.

Very nice!
Up the reflectivity on the red though, it's WAY too dull.
Also, like said before, the rims look like plastic - perhaps there isn't enough fresnel?

It just looks too fake to me. I liked the black one better...looks a little more realistic in my opinion.

wow, didn't think this was a poly model as it has none of the typical rounded-edge mistakes... if you hadn't said anything i would have expected it to be nurbs :)
would you mind showing a wire? from the render it looks like a perfect model :)
can't help with materials, haven't got much experiance in that area :/

Dude, very nice render. I really like the contrast on the paint. Try a light silver gray w/ a little more reflection to give it a real shine. Its great tho. Keep it up, your better than me! lol!:applause: :applause: :applause:
