I have started this car few days ago. 13 hours of work so far.
There are no blueprints for the car so I have built it from pictures.

Coments and crits are welcome as always. :p

so here are two renders:

Looks really nice, I'm looking forward to see how this car turns out. The tread looks very good, same goes for the style of your rims. Only crit is that the tire looks like it doesn't fit to the rim exactly (especially on top of the rim), and maybe the chrome material is a tad too reflective, but it's still a wip, I know....keep it up!

Looking very nice so far, I love this car!!!

I like the rims, and tires, but the tires are a little too reflective.

Post a wire if you can, and what software are you using?

Thanks guys for the great coments

kayniac: The tire fits perfectly. This is a reflection. And I will see what I can do with the chrome.

RusMan: I am using Max 5.1 with Brazil. I have better side/front and rear pictures, but thanks anyway. :p

Hey, this looks very good already. The doorhandles came out great. Only thing that I notice right away is that the nose is too square. It needs to be smoother, more round. It makes the whole car look more box-like. You can cleary see it if you compare the nose with the one in the photo's. In the rear, the effect is also there, but not as much as the front.

If you change that, I think your on your way to a great model.

Grtz

As everyone else has said, it's coming along well, and I'm sure it'll stitch together very nicely! And as this is a car thread, I have to ask the obligatory question: Are you planning to model the interior? :)

Pavel Lazarov
03-25-2004, 04:30 PM
thx1138: Thanks for the crits .. you help me to improve the car :)

Max Particle: No I wont do the interior ... The car is for a client. He dont want interior .. And i dont have the time to do it. I will continue on other projects after finishing it.

Here is how it should look ( if anyone can find any more mistakes that will be great ) :
http://www.freepgs.com/pavel/front-fix.jpg

I am doing a bodykit for it now... just rendered the front bumper. Still a lot to do on it and the front lights :)

http://www.freepgs.com/pavel/2004-Acura-BK-02.jpg

I will do the final renders when I finish both .. stock and tuned versions of the car !

RusMan

Very nice so far.

tuned version
I'm waiting for that one!!!

i would love to pay for a tutorial how to make a car like this one...but people are crazy here a little bit, they dont record how they do all the stuff, and share it with all other, so all people can learn from it...

MaxParticle
03-25-2004, 10:44 PM
HW2002: I'm not sure I quite understand where you're coming from when you say that everyone should be recording all their stuff and posting it. Apart from the considerable extra time it would add to everyone's workload, this is a free messageboard, where you get free feedback, and I find that alone bloody fantastic. From watching a recorded bit of model making, which played at quite a high speed, I couldn't really follow what was going on. I believe it's far more beneficial to just roll up your sleeves and get your pixel pushing hands dirty, while looking through tutorials if you're really stuck on how to acomplish a particular section of your model. There's some great tutorial threads on this messageboard, where the modeller has taken considerable time and effort to explain each stage in great detail with excellent screen shots of the process involved. I find these far more effective than videos most of the time, especially being a modem user.

Bla999: It's coming on very nicely, I'm looking forward to seeing both versions. Is it just me, or do those rear light seem a bit jagged where they meet the bodywork?

Pavel Lazarov
03-26-2004, 03:51 AM
Max Particle: The rear light wasn`t smoothed ... It will be fixed of course :)

Here is an update ... finaly
These are previews of the final renders.
I will have to render very high resulotion images of the finals ... and I can resize them and post if there is someone interested.

igami: Search for some tutorials. There is a tutorial about lighting and rendering a car in Brazil RS. The technique is very similiar to mine.

AMazing stuff. I like that car a lot bro. I saw it once in the real world and i liked it (especially the interior).

Also, are you up to modeling the interior too? That would kick some ass.
i guess you are going to model a rear spoiler too (since it's a tuned car). Keep workin.

P.S. The grills look insanely good. (texture map?)

Pavel Lazarov
04-24-2004, 05:45 PM
TheShaddix:
I am not going to model the interior. This is for a client and he dont want interior. I will proceed to other project after that.

You mean the wire mesh ?
Its modeled using booleans. :)

TheShaddix
04-24-2004, 06:29 PM
Nice
Booleans? I gotta try that one.

Pavel Lazarov
04-25-2004, 12:58 AM
Yeah its a cool technique but the mesh has a lot of polys ... with all that holes.

Pavel Lazarov
04-28-2004, 10:21 PM
Well here is the final update!
Modified the vents on the front fender, rear fender and side skirts.
And lowered the car a little bit. :)
Thanks for all the comments guys.

Please, could you send the ajusts of the lights?
It's very nice!

Are you using MentalRay?

Thx!

Hey guys thanks for the comments. I am glad you like my work.

whiteboy (http://www.cgtalk.com/member.php?u=64024): The chrome is Brazil Chrome. Then go to rendering -> enviroment
then on the enviroment map button (none) put Gradient. Then drag it to the material editor and choose `Instanse`. Then experiment with rotating the W: angle to see the different results. In Gradient Parameters change the colors to be darker. From dark grey to darker grey and then black. Also the lighing is a self illuminated plane over the car/rim. And dont forget to add Skylight and a ground plane.

You can see how to do the lighting plane here and some other useful info too here: http://www.3dm-mc.com/tutorials/carrender/

Well thats all for the rim material and lighting of the scene.

Vayu (http://www.cgtalk.com/member.php?u=13595): I use Brazil. If you want me to send you the file mail me.

By the way few images of the Acura with the original fenders and side skirts:

I love the rims :) ... and good renders. where did you learn making shaders & stuff? (i'am completly new - got past modeling basics, but with no knowledge of making good shaders / renders)

Pavel Lazarov
06-22-2004, 09:35 PM
Well I am not that good in making shaders honestly. The paint is carpaint from brazil and the chrome is Brazil chrome. And some other materials and tweaking.

And you can check the link to the car rendering tutorial with brazil in my previous post.
Happy to hear that you like the renders :)

nice car...

I assume that Brazils car paint shader has the fresnel effect, but it is subtle in your renders...

keep it up...
