i got two site here
planet portal (http://gw.marketingden.com/planets/planets.html)

has satellite images of the whole earth on that site then.

blue marble (http://visibleearth.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/viewrecord?11656)

a nasa site but it has much higher detailed map than planet portal but theyre also huge ive sene 500 meg one there...

did you know that you get landsat images for free from digitalglobe.com, if they are over 10 years old?

where did you get this information from that older landsat images are free at digitalglobe?
I searched on the website but didn't find any information concerning this.
