Here's another RTS model. I'm making a bunch of em just for fun, I kind of like the 500 poly range. This one has 498 faces.

Ahh! Makes me want to do something like this. I'd planned on starting on some low poly rts characters soon.

Texture! Texture! We want a texture!

Do you know if there are any RTS's that are easily moddable? It would be nice to have something to design for, and be able to see in game.

Warcraft III is very easily moddable. Blizzard released all the 3dsmax plugins that they use so getting your models in-game is childsplay. The only problem is I think it doesn't work with max6. And you can modify almost anything in the game using jass script. We script our own spells etc. And the World Editor makes map making, building tree editing etc easy. You can basically do anything. The entire UI is changable too.

If you want good modding ressources for wc3 check out www.wc3campaigns.com
I've been modding with those guys since the game is out. They developped almost all the common tools used for modding the game, and made the petition for Blizzard to release their plugins ;)

Also I heard C&C: Generals was a good RTS to mod but i've never tried modding it. I didn't even play the game actually.
