hi!

i started a new character model today - its tessai from the manga ninja scroll.

i will do a dressed version first - maybe i'll do a stone-muscle version later on... let's see...

its not much for now but i would like to hear some opinions about the proportions - what you think?

its my first model i do in max for about one and a half year - i was using maya for some time... hope max isn't mad 'cause of the little side leap...

Hey Quas,

looking good so far. I think he need to be thicker through the chest when viewed from the side. Also from the front try expanding the row of polys that is his lower rib cage. His waist is thin but it doesnt taper as slowly has you have it.

Kickass movie too, good choice for a model.

then on the second page near the bottom their is a daigram
of a new toy of tessai....
it might help you some,

beta_darkheart: i already saw the tessai-picture - but its not that helpful because it varies to much from the original.
bigreddog: i also edited the chest area a bit - think its better now.

not happened so much since my last post - i tweaked around a little and added hands.
i think the proportions are ok now - what you think? next i'll go for the head and add some detail there....

You're of to a good start! Tessai is my favorite character from Ninja Scroll.

Perhaps the legs are just a bit short... maybe extend them a bit by about a knee's height?

Otherwise good job can't wait to see this finished!

That's definitely a good start....The legs are too short, as somebody before me mentioned..

its cool that u are making it as i dont think that i have even seen anyone model this char in 3d
