Hello,
I am new to maya, and have a question, i have been trying to find some info on it as to why it is doing this but cant find any info anywhere - when i try and place joints to my model they always start waay way behind the character and i have to move every joint up a great distance so that it is inside the model,

any clue as to why it is doing this?

thank you!:)

I think it just has to do with how you are placing them. If you are trying to do it through the perspective view , then that is your problem.

The easiest way to place them quuickly is to centere the character over the x,z origin, and use the orthographic views (side, front, top).

If you, for example, place a shoulder joint by looking in the front view, and then start creating the rest of the joints outward in the top view, they should stay in line with the first joint.

yea, thanks man, i think i fixed it, i actually think it was just a glitch or something, my model was centered on grid, and i was using the single viewlette to create the joints, - it was weird..

thanks agan man, appreciate the reply..
