View Full Version : Supersample
GlasS- 07-04-2002, 06:40 PM Hi, what does supersample do? I just think it takes a couple of times longer to render.. i see no difference
I admit that im a noob, but you got to learn somehow...

from what i can tell it antialiases the textures....i think max "cheats" its textures and just resizes them when rendering and leaves it there...
to see the effect make a 1000x1000 pixel map of fine grid lines...then put that in the bump map...wind up the bump a little, stick it on a sphere and render...then turn supersample on and see the difference...the image should look a little cleaner and less "confused" :)
one useful effect is it can also stop flickering and moire on texturemaps in animations
