Hello there,

after three weeks of work, I can post the result of it.

This animation was made for a cdrom's intro commissioned by the school were I've worked.

A little history about the architecture:
was committed to the architect Luciano Baldessari (1896-1982) in 1952 from the Breda Company; since the later date it has been functioning as eight single units co-ordinated by a financial holding company.
The architectural spiral represents, in fact, the financial holding company and the origin of the group. A large ribbon starts from the spiral, develops horizontally and allegorically links the eight new companies which, in the interior of the area contained by the ribbon, are represented by eight single stops for the visitor.

Some tech:
-Modeled animated and rendered with Lightwave 7.5
-8 days of rendering with a Pentium 4 3Ghz with HT and 1GB of ram.
-Renders at: 720*405 With AA at Enhanced High.

mmmmm I was hoping at list one reply :blush:

This is my first 3d work as freelance in Italy and work too hard to create this little movie... So I really would like to know if you like it.

Your modeling is really nice, and composition of the shots works well. I think the archictecture is very strong from a design point of view, which really helps that. The music is not my cup of tea, but suiting for the animation. I think for an intro animation, it might be a tad long, i think this animation could be knocked down to about 30-45 sec. and it would hit even harder. The sky is working against you IMO. It looks like maybe a sunset type of sky, in which case there would be a pinkish tint thrown on everything and blue ambient. The sky just looks weak, i'm sorry.
I really hoped to see the charachters moving! Even just mocapped walk cycles would have brought this to life. You see, you have these b+w "stills" with nice GI lighting, sprinkled in there with camera move shots, but they are all reading as stills to some degree, you know what i mean?

Anyhow, good job!:beer:

looks really nice!
we've got a book here in the office which features this pavillion, i've always thought it looked pretty cool...

from the looks of the photograph's in the book, you've got it pretty close.

I know what you mean and I know that the movie could be only 30/40 sec but they ask to me a 2.30 minuts :)

It's really interesting that you have recovered that old beatiful architecture.

I saw the animiation, and well, the only complains i have so far is the beginning of the animation - the part with the sky and the camera lowers down to the building...It looks like the sky is just a "background" not an environment...if you see what i mean...
