View Full Version : this "thing" is TICKING me off!
So here's what happened... I have version 4 of 3d Studio Max.... I uninstall it to make some room for a project I'm working on. After I was done i re-install it and use the program again.... the problem I am running into is that I like to use the modifier "Edit Mesh," but for some reason Max is not displaying my vertex tick points. This makes it near impossible to do what I want to do in reguards to my poly modeling. I am stuck in kind of a bind because I've tried going into the object properties and the display floater and changing it so it would display the ticks, but I cannot figure it out and now this "ticks" are ticking me off!
Any help would be great!

Might be a display card OGL prob but try going to preferences and check the LARGE vertex dots radio button.
Might work :)

heh, I posted two threads about the dissapearing vertexes before. No solution in Ogl, for me anyway.
Are the small vertexes displaying in HEIDI?
Anyway, the thing you can do is switch of "display vertexes as dots" so they look like little crosshairs instead.
Oh, and another thing. When you're running in OpenGl, take a printscreen while in vertex SO mode.
Paste and zoom in on a vertex in Photoshop, about 500%.
This is because here the vertexes over here where 1 pixel big and when you zoom in on the printscreen, they become visible.

Change the vertex size in the ogl settings in the prefs. I have mine at like 5 or 6. I had the same problem after I installed the maxtreme drivers from nvidia, but changeing the size fixed it.
alright... that works!
thanx alot, all i had to do was chang between Direct 3d to using OpenGL so great! Thanx again!

::I had exactly the same problem but I figured it out after a process of thinking back to all the setting I might have changed::
