ok I have a couple of somewhat simple questions...
ok I have a scene of a car, with a pretty nice paint shader
I wanna use FG for my scene... I noticed 2 things
first one of the things that makes my shader look nice is spcularity from my lights do I need to keep the lights or should fg alone be enough??

secondly I delete all lights in my scene but specular reflections are visible even without lights..?? why is this and does it affect fg??

Don't delete all lights. Its funny, but if you want no lights in the scene, you need to create one light (of any kind) with intensity=0 or black color.
That's because in lasts versions of Maya the scene has a default light when there's no light created.

Hope it helps you.
Good luck!!

Or ya, just turn off default lights in render globals and you don't have to worry about creating that single light with a 0 intensity. I never understood why people just don't uncheck that in the RG.
