I know F-Prime (http://www.worley.com) can't be really compared with Sniper Pro, since Sniper Pro is only a preview tool.

But when do you think we will see something similar to F-Prime for Cinema 4D ? Maybe C4Dv9 ? Or maybe the next version of Sniper Pro will be as fast as F-Prime ?

gotta admit worley come out with some mouth watering stuff.

think a lot of the preview stuff of sniper pro could be integrated into c4d....paul might not be to happy about that though. if it was integrated i guess there is room for better integration/speed with c4d renderer limiting it less to just previews and opening up scope to something like fprime i guess...but i'm no techie in this area.

I've got to image that it is something Maxon has on the plate. An IPR feature/tool is just one of those things that every app will have at some point in the near future. The last I communicated with Worley labs, they said that plans to develop plugins for C4D is still possible, but they didn't like the terms that Maxon presented them so we will see if they every support C4D.

Yah, FPime seems very cool, and it seems better than other IPR tools.

Worley has many times flirted with the idea to make their plugs for 3dmax...But it never eventuated. Maybe somtime in the near future Sniper might evolve from just being a preview.

Comparing Sniper to FPrime even as a possible future path is like asking if you can turn a rabbit into a race horse (no offence intended to Sniper). FPrime is a completely contained render system. Sniper is essentially a preview tool that uses the CINEMA render engine and reduces your render settings to lower the quality (and speed it up).

Sniper can never be faster than CINEMAs own render (with matching settings) without CINEMA getting a faster render. Turning Sniper into FPrime means writing something completely new, a complete render system (and a fast one at that), no small task.
