Hi!

My posts here are a bit infrequent. I posted "Crawling spider animation" in this forum in 2002 and "Boom! There goes my school..." later the same year.

My niche remains the same: I don't like modeling, but I try to create interesting animations controlled almost completely by scripting.

"The Tentacle Dance" is the name of a simple animation I originally made in 2003 but have improved and refined just now.

It basically features a ball covered with tentacles that "dances" by moving in sync to the soundtrack. Since the original version, I have now made the movement more interesting and added a visual overlay-effect and the animation is also twice as long (16 seconds) as the first version.

Attached is a screenshot. Direct link to the animation is above. The animation can also be found on this page:

Comments are much appreciated! :)

Hey thats a pretty cool concept. It reminds me quite a bit of the sentinels from the Matrix trilogy....

Very good--fun to watch!

Funny - It was not really inspired by those - but you're not the first to mention it... :)
