ok heres the quick way I know of doing this.
( make sure all vertices are unwelded as I sometimes get errors )

we'll assume that you have geometry called partA and PartB and corressponding UVs called UV_A and UV_B.

select the "T" UV map called UV_A and in the UVwindow select all the polys belonging to UV_A.
now click the button called copy_UVs.the polys will now deselect as they get read into memory. If they don't deselect you've done something wrong.

Select this geometry and copy and paste this geometry partA now into partB.
now select the "T" UV map called UV_B ( don't have any polys selected though.)
now select the polys belonging to PartA.
now click the button called paste_UVs.
If everything went well your UVs for partA should now be displayed over the Uvs for partB.

You can now reweld if you want.

Theres a tutorial on the net somewhere about this but I don't have the link here at work.( sorry )

Seizure,

Wiggz.

Hope this helped.
