Hello, this is my first post here at CGtalk..

I just hope my artwork is up to par to be critiqued. Here goes nothing.

This is a wip of two anthropomorphic dragons engaged in a sort of waltz, dresed in formal attire. This was an entry for a school contest.

Anyway, I would like critiques on most anything. Help on making the dress look more fabric-y is appreciated. I would like to make this a professional quality piece when finished, as I will use it as an application for an online gallery.

i think the female lookes better than the male. her proportions and facial expression are better. not to mention the male looks kind of.. bent. there's something wrong with his hip/waist area. his neck also seems too long, especially when compared to the female.

it's quite an interesting concept tho, and you've done pretty well with it :) just needs some tweaking.

I have to say the neck on the male is awkward. Besides the wrong perspective, the value scale on the neck is not the same as the value on the head. The way you shade and highlight the male head makes that part pop out, yet the neck is all too flat since you don't have matching value to the head.

make sure you can read the over all form before you work on textures. What i mean is, your male's pants for example. make it look round before you give it small little folds. this applies to everything :D

Thank you for the crits!

I am re-working the dress as we speak, the tutorial is helping alot, and I thank you very much for it!

I am however, having problems trying to figure how how I can fix the perspective problem on the male's head/neck area..

And I'm trying to find out a way to make the male's pose more anatomically correct, or atleast more comfortable.

Again, thank you for all of the help.

This will look GREAT when finished. The way you get these reflections on the skin is awesome, definitely keep it up!
