Insomniac Games, an independent video game developer located in sunny Burbank, CA, is looking for a talented Special FX Artist to aid in the development of current and future games. Insomniac's award winning games include Disruptor, the Spyro series, and the Ratchet and Clank series.

Responsibilities:

-Pre-visualization/prototyping of in-game special effects for a next-generation console videogame system
-Generation of art and animation assets to be used for real time in-game effects
-Participation in design of systems to support sophisticated, real time in-game effects

Requirements:

-Solid experience creating high-resolution effects for movies, television or games
-Expertise with Maya's fluid effects, particle system, dynamics, general animation system, rendering environment and modeling tools
-Advanced understanding of Photoshop
-Strong painting skills with the ability to create textures necessary for building realistic special effects
-Strong 3D modeling skills
-Solid understanding of advanced animation principles, necessary for correct effects timing
-Ability to meet deadlines consistently
-Ability to take direction well
-Ability to work within a team structure
