"The clock is ticking - the submission period for the animago Award 2004 has begun: Register now to participate in the contest!

Registration is a two-step process: First, you will be asked to enter your personal data. Then, you can register your works and submit them at your convenience (deadline: March 15, 2004).

Detailed Information on the animago categories Still, Animation, Compositing, Interactive, and Game Design can be found in the Submission guidelines.

Friends of animago who have not yet decided whether or not they want to submit their works can subscribe to the free animago newsletter. If they should later decide to actively participate, the personal data already stored will be used to shorten the registration process. (Note: the newsletter will automatically be sent to animago participants, no need for extra registration)

The animago Award 2004 is the most important contest in the field of Digital Content Creation in the German-speaking countries. It offers artists the opportunity to present their work to a jury of experts as well as to an international audience.

Organized by leading professional journal digital production, the award has long become a reference for artists creating computer graphics, animations and compositings. "

bit of a shame though.

it used to be a nice little contest showcasing what was possible here in germany, considering there arent too many places to focus on studying CG around here as well as the film industry (and hence the budgets for postproduction) being rather small.

so it was nice to see what other german companies did or were manage to pull off within these limations.

now with its increased popularity you mostly only get to see that kind of stuff that rakes in tons of awards at all the other festivals as well.

not really trying to start a discussion here, just a bit sad about how the animago turned out in the long run.
