My little X-Ray tutorial (that first appeared here on CG-Talk) has been printed in the new issue of 3D User. The path to printing is kinda funny because I posted the tut here, then it was translated into spanish and put on the web where one of the people at 3D User saw it and asked me if they could print it up. So they translated it into Chinese and printed it up.

They sent me a copy of the mag, it is very cool. I can't understand any of it because I don't speak Chinese but the pictures in the mag are very cool. If anyone out there can read my tut let me know what you think!

Hmmm...never heard of 3D User. Link?

Did they give you anything for it (i.e. money) other than a free mag that you can't read?:hmm:

That was an excellent tutorial/effect. Congratulations!

Thanks zuzzabuzz, that's pretty funny.

Signal to Noise: Try http://www.3duser.com.tw that is their website, I had never heard about it before either but I have also never been to Taiwan where the thing is published. All I got was the mag, but I don't really want anything else. I just think it is cool to help out and get my name in print.

Internationally published Aaron Berger doesn't hurt the resume...

The way I do it is I don't charge any money unless I made it specificly for the magazine. If what is published in the magazine has already been realeased for free on the internet I only request a copy of that magazine. :)

I don't know how others do it but that is how I do.

Congratulations uncon!

I also had a recent publication of a cover feature in a Pro/ENGINEER user's magazine. www.profilesmagazine.com for those who have interest in Pro/ENGINEER.

Is this your article? (http://www.profilesmagazine.com/p27/cover.html)

That is pretty cool, I haven't done cad stuff in a long time. Looks good though.

Yes, the reverse engineer article is mine. Sorry I wasn't more clear.

I'm a designer by trade right now, so I'm trying to sneak the Lightwave aspect in more and more. I find both are vents for artistry.

Thanks!
