Hello, I have a question regarding the import of CAD data/files into Lightwave 7.5. But first I have to say that I’am actually a Cinema 4D guy - therefore I am not experienced in Lightwave.
Following problem:
A friend of mine tried to import some 3D-models into Lightwave. We exported several models from my CAD-system as IGES-files and translated them with a translating program (Polytrans) into the Lightwave format. Then he can load them directly with Lightwave. All without any problems resp. errors.
But if he render the imported models, there appear several “bad” faces onto the surfaces. Especially on big plain faces. We tested some different settings for surface smoothing and double sided – Some bad faces disappeared but not all.
So my question. What can we do to import the models without any flaws ? or is there any further seetings to prevent this issues?
