im a little ignorant about the hierarchy in big companies... wat does that mean Eisner steps down as Chairman but keeps his CEO position? which position is higher?

and they're replacing him with a politician? won't that be just as bad?

afaik the ceo can be fired by the board of governors. the governors are elected by the shareholders. by removing him from the board he's essentially lost direct control over his own future within disney, and to a greater extent over disney itself.
