A beast of burden is an animal/thing that has been through many hard times, think of a pack mule for example, it's burden all the time with heavy objects, weighing it down, making it struggle or in other words to oppress...

If u know me....u also know that i love (need) to create a background story about my characters.
This time is not different.........
This story takes place on a planet called DARIN (a lot distant from here).
Here in the earth the humankind are the dominant race,but on DARIN two races rule on the planet.
The AKKRENNOSS and the MIREDREAN.
The akkrennoss race dominate the big desert and the green lands of the north, and the miredrean lives on the vast
island areas of the south.theese two races usually dont fights,but some recent discover talking
about a third sleeping race (placed under the mid sea).
This race has to be destroyed before it wakes up 4 the miredrean that think it could be dangerous.
and instead it must be saved in opinion of the akkrennoss.Ans so is war.......
now....i don't want to talk about the war of the sleeping race (as it is called on darin)

Excellent concepts...................soooooooo many interesting sketches. And I know that the CG will be really speacial because you have proven over and over again your great talent OZ....................That "BEAST of BURDEN" is both tough and gentle looking, a real unique look, I love it, your style and feel are very much what I am interested in OZ.

to Ragnarok:.....hem....well,after drawn the concept,i take a loooong look to it..........then i go in frond of my bedroom mirror...turn the sheet to the reflective surface,and look right in to my eyes.........look at sheet,a look at me,a look at sheet,a look at me...................BWHHA HA HA HA HA HA ....the image of me in the mirror explodes into a uproarious laugh............im not sure to be able to model the BRAMADAKIM.

The legs are great! they look strong and heavy while natural. Don't know how to say it, looks like the wrinkles are on the right place and give them an excelent 'organic' touch in my opinion! :). The head is also fantastic! the only thing I'm not to sure about is the way the horns bend. They seem to get too thin/flat on the middle, btw maybe it's just me. Love the lighting too! I'll be back to see the 'bug' grow!

WOW. That head is great, I've got a lot to learn about modelling. It looks real -OZ- 'cause it moves realistically. The skin folds are great. :eek: I hope I can learn something from it.

Hmm. Not to be hard on you, but does an antigrav device really need such a powerful beast to pull it? I thought that was the whole idea about antigrav. Not needing extreme powers to manipulate it.
If you are into military gear, try to make an old cannon suited for your alien world instead. Something like an old WW2 cannon. Just a quick thought. But I do think you need something else than the antigrav turret.
Otherwise, I really do like your BoB.

HAHA :) well, a few years in the industry gives that to ya.
What about giving the piece some action? You do the snapshot when your beast just is starting to pull the turret. Then the guy on top gets hurled backwards and have to grab hold of the railing.
Will be interesting to see how you will design the actual cannon.

I am not sure about your newer texture/bump, I think I liked the former one better. Where the bump wasn´t that obvious. (I think you were allowed to use bumps for the final picture in the contest). Looks like the bump on his horns need a bit more attention, looks to stretched now. But the form of them is nice.
I think you should discontinue any work before you´ve given him eyes. Then he really will come alive. He seems alive and attentive right now, but I think you know how much a real eye will add.
Will be interesting to see the female one, if you decide to create one.

I like the straps, they look really nice.
Have you tried giving his eye more definition? Or are you aiming for a cow like eye? I browsed through my photos and realised that is what you´ve got there. Unfortunately you wont be able to have a nice reflection in them.
A suggestion, do add a iris, but make it really dark blue almost black. Then you would keep this animal look. But still lend it more life.

I really love your style and the way you go about modeling and texturing, it really has a great feeling that not many cg artists have! You really have a talent for this stuff. Great job on the beast! slow and complex.....coff coff.....so:I start crating a single hair mesh (a cylinder very low poly) then i bend it ad place it by hand
on the model.Then i make a selection of the surface where i want to copy all the hairs.Finally i use a function in max called scatter (in the compound objects submenu) and copy the first hair in a procedural way. (sorry 4 the bad english...urgh!) Tnx 4 ur comments man!:wavey:

so easy,
I now this in max, are you working with 3ds max, I also, but I use scatter for ground or somethings like that, I never use it on character, great technique OZ:bounce:

As usual beautiful and fun with in-depth character to your creations OZ. I love it, but I already expect this from you. I think I will enter the next challenge, you look like you and everyone else here are having toooooo much fun, I want some too.
I use Shag hair and fur quite a bit, I like them, but the scatter function is another very good way of showing off nice hair as you have proven. By the way.................Your english is better than most english speaking people, don't worry about it, it is very good.

to Lorenzo:He...i a little crazy so sometimes i apply the hair one by one...when i have applyed 20 or 30 i select all,and copy the selection,then i move it in group of 4 /6 hairs to make it looks different.in the end i take avery thing ad put on it a displace map to make a bit more variation.....:)

You should just get to know some rapid-prototyping guys, would make such a great little statue.
That base of yours is such a great idea. That is something I will start using in the future.
Yes those eyes are hard. But cowlike ones do fit him, would just be interesting to see eyes with irises.
