Hi all,

This is an image I'm working on to show off my new character named Throg.

Would love to hear what you all think from all areas. Thanks for taking the time to look

Cool. I really like the shader/rim light, and the expression on his face. Nice tattoo too. My only crit would be to add some depth to his pose (put his right foot back a little farther, fist back a little, basically add more perspective to it) Either that or pan the camera around a little. Is he going to be animated? Nice job

Haha! Great character! Very nice indeed. Only crits are:

I would probably redo the tatoo - it seems a little blurred - maybe too lo res?

I would be careful about using that velvet shader all over the character. You might want to consider breaking the mesh up into seperately textured parts for variation. Also, using the velvet shader on his feet means the shadows don't cast properly off them, making the character look like he's floating above the ground a little. Perhaps adjust the falloff for the shader around the feet area and hands to stop this happening. Or you could just brighten up the background instead.

Great character!

PS. Im not quite sure what that translucent pink thing is around his left wrist - needs definition to make it obvious what it is I think.

awesome char. reminds me of some kinda twisted, warped red blood cell (shader makes me think of that and red velvet) he scares me

Thanks for the comments.

muyyatin, yea he will definately be animated. Yea the pose isnt that deep. I was basically just testing the rig and deformations by just blindly posing him and ended up really liking this pose when I put it together by chance. So I decided to try and make a semi-interesting image out of it.

mothermachine, I totally hear what your saying about the shader. Hopefully in the animation he was created for the scenes should be a little brighter and more fitting. Ill have to see how it works out. Oh yea and the translucent pink thing around his wrist is just his forarm forshortened by the camera angle. Yea its a little wierd, but the nature of the shader.

blindsleeper, very to happy to hear about your fear for my character though I assure he does not bite:)

thanks again
