I am a bit mixed on his opening expression. It seems to want to be a bit happy or lovey but the eyes are a bit slanted with the grin, a bit too sharp and mildly sinister. The overall transition is a bit too quick for me (although with no context other than a description this may not be the case with a more fleshed out scene). The look at the end is nice, although the eyebrow movement comes in a bit late or perhaps a little to mechanically. If it 'flowed' in with the rest of the look i think it would convey the feeling better. Maybe a little slouch and shoulder slump would work well with it too. In general though i think the mood is captured pretty well.

I like the movement, very fluid, and the posing is nice.

The eyebrows are definitely late, the entire face should change expression as a whole.

The eyeblink as he looks up doesn't look right.

Think of the emotional states the character is going through. Some suggestions I thought of:

1. He his happy thinking about the subject of the picture as he holds it up to look at it.

2. He recalls a memory. He closes his eyes as he pulls the picture close.

3. After the character recalls the memory, he thinks of the loss, and his expression goes sad. He rotates his head up and then the eyes open looking up.

When he is happy, he has quick movements, but when his becomes sad, his movements should slow down and hold longer. Don't rush through the emotional states, give them a little time.

Also, his upper body is very stiff. When he pulls the picture close, and when he lifts his head up, the movements should start from the hips (a slight rotation), move to the chest (some backward movement or rotation), and then to the arms and head.

Hope this helps.
