All combinations exists. Diference is only in technique.

Forgive me ..im not an expert in weaponry..

But isnt it supposed to be pointy?

The tip looks pretty dull/rounded to me...

I know you have the weapon so I cant really dispute that your weapon doesnt have handles that do that... HOWEVER, a sai is used as a sword breaker. You catch a sword in between the middle prong and an outer prong and then you twist it, trapping the sword. Then you pull out your other sai and you break the sword in half, hitting it on its side. I dont see how you would do that with your weapon.

As for the model and render itself, it looks good ;)

There are different models of sai. Even without pointy peek you can penetrate enemy with no problem.

I dont think that you can brake sword like that , but for the sword intercepting you are right. In this case their purpose is to protect the hand.

I think Im gonna believe the guy who actually HAS the sai...

Reminds me of the days of raphael....the turtle, not the painter....Ahh...3rd grade.

Just in reply to breaking a sword. Swords are generally only strong from the edges, top and bottom umm...

Eg, the left and right side of this very simple...3d model i just whipped up :P if a sword is struck on the flat, then the sword is much more likely to break, however, it's not a like a simple tap is going to do this.
