Hi all, im relatively new to CG, and im wondering if there are any User Groups in the Northeast US, particularly MA area.

Also, I picked up mastering maya 3, and found it a little hard to follow being a novice user. Can anyone recommend some good beginning books and/or a place for some good tutorials. Any help suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

believe me, the biggest and best book for maya is right in front of you. press F1 and you'll get it. i've wrote a part of my exam about learning tools for maya (books, videos etc.) and found out that nothing is better or can even reach the help files from AW. they have many little and big tutorials for every part in it. so this is really the best step to beginn.

if you are new to maya the best thing you can do is to get the video training cds from 3dbuzz.com

just sign up at www.3dbuzz.com, write something in the forum or send some cdrs and you have your maya cds in 2 weeks

every cd has around 4-5 hours of video tutorials and it will cost you nothing :beer:
