This guy is to be animated for a DVD I'm authoring for a degree project, I'm going to texture him in as a reasonably realistic representation of a small toy- I'll going to do facial features with textures that'll look like stickers. I've still got to shape the body to make it less square and stuff, just wanted to post early on :)

Any comments?

The feel I was looking for was something like the stuff from James Jarvis ( http://homepage.mac.com/james.jarvis/news.html ) I think that kind of thing is going to become uber-fashionable even among non designers, so I'm getting in there earlier. Dunno how I'm going to explain that to the faculty of engineering lecturers cause my course is a BSC.

I'm going to animate the texture in flash i think at this stage- I think that's gonna be the easiest app to sync the lips and eyes in. I'll export from flash as an AVI and recomposite in premiere.

Anyhoo, I'm off to create bones (an armature, really)

well, i did see the picture up earlier, but forgot to comment on it later on; penguin, there really isn't much to critique yet. i'll say this, though - it definitely looks like a toy, kind of like a little legos figure. post the textures when you're finished with them; are you intending on animating the textures (facial expressions) in flash or are you doing it by hand?
