hi all,

i'm having trouble with the prespective view in max 4.26. it's snapping to an invisible grid when i translate. but that snapping only happen in prespective view, not the other otho views. i didn't turn on the snap option on the bottom of the program. i must have hit some hot key without my knowing and turn on some strange snapping other than the big snapping button on the bottom. is there any other snapping hidden somewhere in the program? it's driving me nuts. how can i turn it off. and also how come these options follow the file but not program ui file? the only way i can get rid of that is to export everything to 3ds format and import that into a new file. i've been thru that a couple times already.... can someone help? cause the help file didn't.

thanks

bill

I just experienced the same problem!!

All snaps are turned off, doesn't snap in other viewports, but in my perspective viewport it is snapping like crazy :annoyed:

Voodoo magic :hmm:

Does someone please have a solution for this?

i had the same problem some time ago and i know i fixed it changing something in the preferences, but i don't remember exactly what it was, but try to change the 'perspective sense' in the preferences/viewports panel, this might be it ;)

Thanks for your reply Cthulhu, but can you (or somebody else) please specify a little in what I should change exactly in the viewport preferences?

This weird 'vertices snapping all over the place'-thing is now becoming a bit of a problem for my project

I also tried to export my model as .3ds and import it in a new (clean) file, but the snapping remains. I suspect it maybe has something to do with scaling and/or zooming, but I don't know what exactly; if any.

All help appreciated. Thx in advance!
