A realtime game creature. The Dharzi Hound is the creation of the sorcerors of Dharzi used either as a mount or as guards. Created for a comp but really because I love character work. I am looking for critque on model and texture. The triangle count:
Photoshop used for painting textures. No photo reference used in the textures. Lots of anatomy reference used for creating the creature models.
Thanks and enjoy, I really loved the time I spent making them.
nice models. i particularly like your polygon count ;)
i cant offer you any suggestions though, sorry :(
nice work! although the textures on the saddle and the equipment could be better, they doesn't seem to fit that well to the rest

Can you say how you think they could be better- are they too clean- not detailed enough- could have better color scheme- different materials?
more details and structure i guess, and maybe (but this is just personal taste) change the green of the sleeping bag
but currently the equipment and saddle is definately less good textured then the rest of him, with all that fur and fine details :)

What do you all think of the fur is it convincing for a realtime character?

Here is the texture sheet for the Dharzi Hound-
i dunno but why didn't you mirror the uv's/texture? you could nearly have the double texturesize for the face and body and it currently looks pretty much like mirrored, the only thing you changed was the seam in the middle the rest looks mirrord, so why not just mirror it at all and get more texture space?
but this is definetly well done! :)

Neox, you are definately right about that. I should have that was the first thing anyone said about it. I could have easily gained half again as much space for additional detail and clarity or I could have probably reduced my texture size down to two 512x512 size textures instead of the one 1024x1024. Either way it would have been useful and I am keeping that in mind with each new texture I work on. Thanks for pointing it out though it is always nice to have multiple opinions which are in agreement.
