I'm trying to build a head using CPS, as modeled in this tutorial....

http://www.visations.com/misc/TM-timelapse-HEADTSavi.avi

you'll need this codec: http://www.techsmith.com/transfer.asp?filename=TSCC.exe

anyways, below is my problem... if i extrude the original box to form it into the the initial shape of the head, it gets pointy... like in the picture, because i deleted the middle faces... any help here?

Yeah, I've seen this. It's like the smooth version wants to converge on the proxy's border edge vertices.

I did some tests with non CPS and you need to uncheck "Preserve > Geometry Border Edges" in the Smooth option box.

Then I checked the CPS creation menu and immediately saw the "Keep Borders" checkbox. So, just uncheck that and recreate your CPS and viola!

thanks, i'll give that a try....

my thought of the day: cgtalk is the most incredble place... you ask an obscure question, and less than a half hour later you've got an answer. i love all of you!!! (nothing funny, i just like talent)

The funny thing is I noticed this in my model, but since it wasn't visible (I deleted the faces for the eyes) I didn't care too much. But when I saw your post I was motivated to fix it. :p
