this is my first attempt at an entirly photoshop constructed image. i dont have much time for it so updates will be spaced out.

i am really looking for input on technique and subject, but mostly on colour and lighting.

the final piece will be 20x30 (if i can get the image looking tight enough at that size)

dont be gentle with your comments

the previous 2 steps are here for anyone that wants to see them:
step 1 (http://flxdigital.com/warped/team-1.jpg)
step 2 (http://flxdigital.com/warped/team-2.jpg)

oh yeah, i know i should use reference material for this, but i am interested in seeing how well i can do using my mind and what i leared from school

It seems like you are painting very strict by the perspective lines which may turn out a little stiff in the end. Or maybe it's just that all the vertical poles are prallel.
Are you planning to add some kind of clockwork mechanism? I think it would make the scene a lot moe interesting.

Cheers!

there are defineatly going to be gears, chains and other such mechanisms. my next update should have the beginings of the clock workings or the clock itself.

you are absolutely right about how stiff the image is going to be. i somewhat prefer a riged and structured image. though i am trying to get away from that style of drawing/painting/whatever, i felt the need for babysteps in adjusting how i do things (i usually start from a sketch or line art.

havent had much a chance to wrk on this in the last week (about 2 hours). Thats the problem with running too many projects at once.

Nice drawings FLX!

Great work but I prefer the second to last painting rather than the most recent.

I like the sharpness of detail in the second to last one.

thanks CharlieB. i get your point about the detail, but there are going to b many more updates before this is done... it is really taking too long. i should just take some time of work just to finsh it outright. like i ever will

un till then, another small update

I really liked when the clouds were more visable through the face of the clock. It was a really nice touch in my opinion, I don't know what your plans are for the final product...but I'm just saying what caught my eye.

..I also like the two gears to the right...especially the near one... the way the light is handled on them looks very nice.

overall it's lookin' quite fine. keep it up!
