this is a simple model for using in a 8 sec. commercial...
i know it looks unfinished but i'm not going to do much more work on it.
so i think i can put it here ...(maybe some strong critiques will change
my mind!)
it took less than a production day to complete (if i can say it's
completed!)

Nice toy-plane ila_solomon
Although i'd extrude the windows of the cocpit a bit, so they match the other windows of the plane.
Have you tried removing the shiny surface? It kinda contradics the plastic look the plane has.

That's cool! I like the toony look. My only crit is the cockpit windows are flat, and the reflectious chtome is a bit much.

Very nice overall though:thumbsup:

thanx a lot to everybody...u r so kind & yes the front windshields
are too flat & the lower body too shiny...but the work i made it for
isn't so important to spent more time on! :) i'm going to do some
animation: landing & parking...& the overall looking is something
between cartoonish/fantasy & realism (cartoon mesh + brazil GI
& DOF & Heat-haze!!)

i'll put some wire-frame shots soon...by now my 3dsmax is
doing heavy render task! :)

:wavey: How you modeled it? BOX or SPLINES?

ilasolomon
07-04-2002, 12:53 AM
hi tobalno3, thanx :)
paconavarro, it's BOX! to be honest, i never used splines!
just some basic NURBS models long time ago...
& this is another test, taxing on the band shot! :) then i will
add DOF & HEAT HAZE effects.

well done ila_solomon, I would however follow joril's advice about the front window, it only takes a couple of seconds to fix. other then that, wow nice style! :)

I love jumbo jets. Though this one could realy use improvement on the cockpit, even though it's just a toy.

i always like your stuff but i have one problem with the way you've edited your avi:

you use wipes and "circle" cuts.... that my friend in the editing field is a no no... you shouldn't use these types of cuts...they are cheesy and extremely outdated.

sure you could say: "but star wars to this day has them even in attack of the clones."

that's only because george lucas can do whatever he wants and no one would tell him otherwise.

if i were you i would stick with traditional cuts, fades, and dissolves.

ilasolomon
07-06-2002, 11:54 PM
:) heehee thanx tobalno3 for the comment.
yes i think you are right, dissolve or fade is more accurate.
(but in my country wipe & iris trans are not outdated yet! :) )
anyway i'll change the way of transition. i myself like dissolve more
cheers

everything is very soft on it except the windows. bevel the windows. people always underestimate beveling.

tobalno3

what i said is just a suggestions...

if you want to use it i say go ahead but it's just not something i would do because of the reasons i stated..

:D
