I have recently purchased a cheap second monitor and i'm wondering if i'll be able to use it for a dual monitor setup. I have a GeForce 4 mx440 graphics card but im not sure if it has dual monitor support. Any help would be appreciated as im a bit clueless about this. Thanks.

Probably doesn't. You might want to upgrade to a Nvidia Quadro4 750 or 980 XGL. The 750 has a vga and dvi out. The 980 has two dvi outs.

I'm running my dual 21" monitor setup on a 980XGL for the first time today. I'm watching a dvd on one screen and type this on my other screen. In Maya, you can have one screen with the main window, and the other with the outliner, hypershader, att. editor, and graph editor all on one screen. Or if you're following an online tutorial you can have IE open and Maya on the other. Quite Nice. :scream:

or just pick up an FX 5900 with dual out. They're plenty decent and don't cost $800 a pop;)

Thanks for the replys, it doesn't look like the card has 2 vga outputs. I think its time to get a new graphics card.

you COULD buy a cheapo PCI video card as well. But i would recommend buying a nicer dual head card.

good luck
