If it comes directly from windowsupdate.microsoft.com, I don't see why you would need to worry. I have installed them already and they work fine. These service packs can be quite hefty. for IE, sometimes it involves a complete reworking of the application itself, thus causing the huge download size.

yeah i understand. but microsoft is as good for security as say a chocolate fireguard.

they usually come at 400kb then that file then downloads the xxMB.

why would the 2 of them be the same size?

and for windows media player?

also i have already installed the .net framework.

ehh there only critical - it makes no difference. its microsoft.

also: i was thinking of using linux permanently on my main computer.

i was looking at suse but i am more intrested in getting native windows apps (non microsoft) to work with linux

u guys found any good documentation?

also i would be willing to buy it if it works out ok.

thankyou
