Arnold is now part of Project Messiah. The max version of Messiah:Render (as it's now called) will be available shortly, if it isn't available already. http://www.projectmessiah.com I believe is the link.

While I enjoy the animations and renders I've seen done in Arnold, I would say if you think that max's scanline has terrible AA(not that bad), then Arnold isn't going to please you. I've seen some pretty noisy renders, especially with GI, I would wait to buy anything like that until we see a little more output from it. Some of the stills I've seen are impressive(car renders), but those have been out there for at least a year, there are plenty of renderers available, compare before you buy.:)

last I heard you can't. It's a private closed beta test.

yes, it was used in 50 percent grey... the guy that made it is part of the beta team. it is not yet publically available, but will become as such once messiah:render is released (this is arnold).

Messiah:Render isn't really "Arnold", though it has a portion of it in it. "Arnold" is the name Marcos uses for his rendering research. Evidently that research is primarily scientific and not meant to create a product (this info came from Fred Tepper of the Project Messiah group)

[messiah:render is a full-featured render system easily capable of producing the most photo-real renders you've ever seen. We've taken the fabled "Arnold" renderer and added a seemingly endless amount of new features, speed and power. In fact, "Arnold" is now only a small portion of a much bigger system, which means your images will look better than you ever thought possible.] Taken from projectmessiah.com I dunno, maybe they're engaging in what it seems every single digital media company does, and blowing things out of proportion, but looks to me like all of Arnold is part of messiah:render... but no matter, happiness all around!

Yeah, I've pretty much given up trying to understand all the doubletalk from companies... makes my poor little head hurt :p
Your right though, in the end it's all good!
