this is a mustang I have started, and before I get too far I wanted some input on it. I have made it using 3D studio max 5, I screwed up somewhere along the line and got the pivot off and I am still trying to correct it. Any comments would be appreciated.http://josh.soniccommerce.com/mustop.jpg

Your on the right track.
I don't see anything noticably wrong at this point ( I modeled one of these about 100 years ago).
I don't know what level of detail you're going for with this thing, but try adding some rivets and panels to it.
Pay close attention to your references and this'll be great

About your pivot being "off", i am not sure what you mean by it, but i guess that going to your hiearchy tab will solve your problem with the pivot.
If you mean that you have a problem with your bounding box you might try "the box" trick. This is done by creating a box, convert it to an editable poly or mesh. Then hit the "attach" button and select your plane. Now max will use the bounding box settings of the box. Just delete the box now and you're done.

Hi

I made a p51 once and the thing i always regretted was not making it beefy enough. I got a chance to look at a real one after i was done and i was amazed at the bulk of it. The undercarriage is huge and I think the tail section of the plane (from the top view) is alittle too short, or the cockpit needs to be scaled and moved. Right now it looks too much like a model and doesnt carry the "weight" of the legendary p-51.

Hope this helps
