i rendered an image sequence out of maya and outputted as maya 16 with zdepth - does anyone know why combustion doesn't display it properly?

we did figure it out in starhunter.
Apparently , you can only use hardware rendered maya16 iff .
I tried tiff16 sgi16 and even rla16. Fcheck see's the zmap embedded in the images - but combustion doesn't. I was just trying to find a logical explanation for it.
Over the past few months i've been using combustion a lot a work and actually became attached to it.
only if it could be somehow embedded into maya. then i'll be very happy.
