Im having problems with my textures when I smooth my model. The UVs have all been mapped, and Ive painted a texture for them, and it works just fine on the character with just a normal smooth. However when I smooth the geometry a few of my UV's just ship and end up infinitely far away from me (believe me, I tried scrolling to them and they are a long ways off). Here is an example of the problem im facing

this one works...

this one doesn't...

I don't plan on actually smoothing this character for what I'm using it for. But I would like to know why this is happening.

One though I've had is that it could be nonmanifold geometry around the ear. Meaning the ear is in essence just a wedge shape coming out of the skull... any ideas would be appriciated.

That's probably the reason why this is happening.

That's probably the reason why this is happening. Make sure that the faces there that are being smooth are not ngons with more than 4 edges per face.
