I have arrived at a stage where I am happy with this model .. probably still continue to tweak away, tough !
I started this in November (With BIG break for Holidays and travelling) and finally had some time to create the interior.
Here are 2 views and colours .... possbly later I'll place it in an environment.
All created and rendered using Studio 3D Max V5.1
C&C always welcome. Thanks !

Thanks for all the feedback ...
I was trying to approximate the Jaguar Racing Green ... maybe not to everyone's taste !
I remembered that I also modelled some BBS Indianapolis wheels - here is a little pic :

Wow, f*cking amazing improvement. You did a great job. I think it looks a bit plastic-y, but the quality of the modeling is fantastic.

The model is really, REALLY nice.
The hood's lines are superior!!
Only crit is there is something with the phong glossiness (excuse me for my english). It does'nt seem to be that "car-paint"-glossy.

Here is a version with tinted windows and chrome wheels ...

Like the reflections in this one!
02-27-2004, 10:14 PM
I don't. I think those reflections are pretty ugly. The reflection quality is poor and looks similar to sunlight reflected off motor oil. Maybe something a bit more clear?
great modeling job...but i think the problem here is the incidence angle of reflection. You have the inverse of what it should be... the car is more reflective at 0 degrees and hardly at all at horizon... it should be the opposite way so that its less reflective as you are right in front of it...and more so as you get closer to horizon...

I'm going to dump Maya after seeing these images!
03-01-2004, 05:32 PM
One of the HDRI image maps I used I created myself using a small camera without tripod .. and for 3 frames. That does appear to have a slight effect on the quality of reflections.
I have tried to place the car in an environment ... Still working on the lighting, here are the first few attempts:
