This is part of an assessment about character design.
The drawing suppose to be in a really fast time lapse. Only then we understand what is going on between the heads.

Have a look to a rough animatic.

Looks good for a time lapse, correct me if I am wrong but souldn't the left and right be dark and a gradation from dark->light->dark in the sky?
I think there should be some soft shadows and the reflection of the sun on the water needs fixing.
Gr8t work!

yea you may be right.... but the thing is I am not really sure how it should look like cause I haven't seen a photo with such a long exposure...
anyway thanx for your reply

the timelapse/animation is nice ... I'd suggest you put some frames inbetween when the head gets up - imho it's a bit too harsh as it is now ... and perhaps make it clearer which one is talking atm (harder contrast in lines to show it)...

oh maybe its not clear enough what is going to in the begging... propably because its an animatic and not the finished piece. I have all the details needed in my storyboard...

actually the animation start with 3 snapshots, from the newest to the oldest. So you first see the present condition of the statues and then with the animation you find out the reason why the right one id down.
There suppose to be a date on the bottom right corner... but it doesnt seems to work right. :(

thanx again for your feedback

ok forget about the date ... I noticed it now as you said it ... but now i know what didn't work for me .... the sun is going backwards in those 3 shots ... telling us that it's back in time - I noticed that but directly after that you spinned the sun some times fast forward that was what made me lose the timeline in the middle of the animation...

perhaps you can make the date clearer when you animate something around it or animate it itself eg rolling numbers or a box aroung it that does a little stretching...

hmmm that's a good idea about the spinning numbers... or something like a wierd clock which will measure the years. The reason that the date doesnt work properly is that I couldnt find an easy way to change the numbers according the time lapse speed. But if it is an analog clock or something... its gonna be easy to script and make it possible.

thanx

ah by the way... a few days after I did this animatic, it happent to watch an animation which is quite similar to this idea and I got a bit dissapointed as I though I was quite original :(
ofcourse this is a proper and complete animation with a really good quality.
have you seen 'Das Rad'?
