Hello pll,
I am a new memeber of this site, but i've been visiting for Months.
I am a fan of maya like u guys, and i am doing mike thomson's car tut with the free version of maya. I am sure everyone is familiar with the tut i'm talking about, but just in case, here it is:

I have been trying to figure everything out by teaching myself, tuts and all but, i have one step that always bugs me.

this is the 86th and 87th step on the list view of the tut. it has to do with blend, trim and fillet. I finish the car i make, but it looks rather dull without the details that these two steps bring to the mix.

i really hope i can get some help from u guys as a "welcome " to the family.

anybody please? i've done my homework, for real, i just dont get when he says "circular fillet" the surfaces. what surfaces? what are settings? and etc.

Please anyone.

If you actualy are going to make this car thingy are you going to be able to save it with this learners edition thingy or are you just trying to figure out how to use the tools?
Cause if you are just trying to learn the tools then I would say look in the manual or try an easier tutorial dude.............:scream:

You can save your files in Maya PLE, you just can't use them in the commercial editions.


For the fillet, trim, and all those tools, just read through the docs. Play with these tools and learn how they work. That's the best advice I can give you.

saving or anything is not my prob, if i can do this, then i can always go to Ga-tech college right next to me if i want one that i can save. i do everything in one sitting, and i need help from whoever knows how, or anyone who has successfully completed the tut, or done something similar. It is NOT a hard tut, it's one of the most detailed. i taught myself bi-rail, and everything else.

pls someone just hlp me with this problem, ANYONE?
