when I have two connecting polygons that connect at a hard angle, I use smooth shift as extrude doesn't keep the extrusions connected, whereas smooth shift does.

Not entirely truth. The main difference is that ShiftSmooth creates a 'bevel'.

Set the angle to 179 degrees for the Extrude Tool and all corner polygons keep connected.

YAY another one joining the Dark side : ) LOL

I know one really useful feature of the smoothshift tool. when you need to chamfer a really odd shaped object set it to 1-5 for both settings, and there you go dropiot into a hypernurbs and your set.

Thanks Kaiskai! Looks like you selected all polys and applied the smoothshift to them.

no actually, that would have made the whole thing blockier and chamfered, I select areas and used it with the sugggested sttings, and then to get rid of odd seam or bumps, I welded some of the shifted areas back in to get nice transitions

seeems my host who said bandwidth for movies and such wouldn't be an issue, can't handle the bandwidth which is an issue. My images are all there, but the server will be problematic for the next day or two, I neeed to see what I can do.
