hey this is probably a stupid question to ask .. but i jsut want to know . .. why is it that maya's playblast will work sometimes and then sometimes it doesnt.. or it will go halfway and then stops ..

does it depend on your system or something?

Hhm ... never have any problems with the playblast possibility !
Ok, sounds not very helpfull and I think you already have done this ... but the options you set are OK ... ???

Another point: The playblast directly stops when you hit a key or a mouse button ... at least here with me !

Well if you have it writing to disk, it ought not stop but it might be very slow. If you're play blasting just in memory, it will obviously stop if you run out of RAM, and since it's rendering IFFs into memory, if you're doing 640x480 or larger, multiply each frame by roughly a megabyte and that's how many frames you can do... up to your max RAM that is. So if you have a gig of RAM you'll be able to playblast around 1000 frames, though I find that if you use more than around 70% of your RAM it will not be able to play back all the frames in realtime. So, without further information on what you're playblasting and what options you're using, that's all I can tell ya.
