hrm thats not very much :| should be at least 100-200 fps what geforce 3 do you have?

It's because of his refresh rate...

Gibbz

could be, buy my refresh rates only 60hz

~ 320 fps...

i'de suggest breaking up your sky some more, and moving it in... 4 sides veses an octagon... (don't use box, use something with more faces) to prevent the "fish eye" distortion that's makin me sick...

textures are nice, but very simple, maybe break up the surface of the map with some boxes and hay bales.

other than that, awsome.

updated demo(only adjusted the lighting so the road doesnt look dirty, and added the little car)

Download Here (http://www.users.on.net/amathews/siphon/uberspeed.ace) (9mb .ace file so use winace or something)

Yeah its not finnished i still have alot to add to the map im planning some grandstand, checkpoints and some cliffs to one side, also more trees, and the current exporter is a bit buggy and is limiting the number of objects atm(soon to be fixed).

Those with lower frames than 100 may have vsnc enabled, if u want ot disable it its under the openGL options in your video settings.

btw i think the fisheye think is either because its in a window, or because the FOV is to high, ill look into it...

FPS: between 160 and 290.
Radeon 9000-XP1600-786mb ram

The FOV definitely need fixing, and when I start out, I'm below ground plane.

keep going, let's see how this turns out.

my god thats cool :D I have always wanted to make my own car game. I think you should go for a more realistic look and feel :D

Enzodiac, before they even attempt that, they must refine their engine, and make it feel more like a real racing game.

I imagine that this would only be considered as version .0001 for them, and if they continue working, they could have something as nice as any other racing game in a year or two. Making it look real is the easy part.

were not aiming for a realistic racing game, more a cheesey style, did u ever play super speed?

and yeah this is a very basic version, we have some network code and basic renderer thats about it atm, so lots to do :)

Something must be terribly wrong. I get 5fps constantly! Here are my specs;

- 2,58gz
- GeForce 4 titanium 4200
- 512mb dual ddr RAM
- way too much harddrive space

Gibbz
02-25-2004, 11:32 AM

Gibbz

ok found the problem, u need detonator 50 or above drivers....
on a geforce 2 someone was getting 60-80fps so you should have no problem geting higher :)
