when I invented it I had the same Idea..Proof on my challeng threat >> see under my post foor the link.
Yes I to think it isn't bad for my 2nd month working with 3D max ( first ever 3D program experience.

I see that the pic is dark again as ususal ( my bad habit )
so here is a lighter version

Hey
Well, Iguiniz.X, I think considering the fact that you've only been using Max for 2 months, this isn't too bad :)
Of course, this does still need a lot of work.

Your model of the hand is very jagged and unnatural looking. You need to work on smoothing it out - a lot.
The fingers are too squarish at the edges, fix that by making them rounder. Also, work on getting the joints better formed - define the joints a bit more.
Also, you need to work in the way you joined the claws to the fingers - add cuticles and those bulges of skin you get around the sides of the nail :)

The base of the tree/claw needs a lot more work - the roots there really don't look very nice at all. Try forming some proper roots and have them spreading down into the ground.

With regards to your composition - your concept is cool, but the focus is lost. In the last picture there, the little house is so small it's hard to see what it actually is. And it doesn't help to just keep rendering larger and larger ones, because it should work at smaller sizes too.
You should add more detail to the entire scene inside the ball - more trees, and things like that.

One more thing, and I don't want to sound nasty here, but your texturing is terrible . I know that in order for the ball to appear to be glass, you had to texture it like glass, but apart from that, I think the texturing actually ruins it.
The grass and the wooden textures you've used are far too small and have become pixellated. They are also far too saturated - for instance, the wood looks too red.
The bump map on the hand just doesn't flow the way it should
:surprised
I know you're obviously still a beginner, so you can't be expected to produce great texturing, but I think you should really try and perfect your modelling skills before trying to texture things as well.
Take things one step at a time, in other words :)

Well thanks for the hard, but fair crit.
I think I like this crit the most of all I had, It is a crit on which you can work ( ;) don't tell the others)
Ehm, I also love the positive com and keep it up com:wip:
I know it can be better and so on, but I think I leave it like this so
When I'm old, I can look back and say: " how on earth could I do that, that's horrible."

About the texturing, I only know that oppacity makes your material transparant and what bump means so those are the only things I worked with I know some more but that is irrelevant info. I've read your workshops but I never had time to really get to know more. But I go and work on my moddelin gscils before the textures
I first tought that I only would moddel it till I really got to know the moddeling tools. but then I just added a bump map for fun and so I thought ok then the moon and I go back moddeling.
and this is the last ting I try.

Here I Add the a IMG link at least I try
to a lighter an larger pic.
if not here is the link
