I was wondering if anyone else was having a problem with Maya's playblast stopping befor all the frames were done. I know that it just takes screen shots as it plays through and you can't close the window and all that. It just stops sometimes. Also it only happens with some of my files not all the time. If anyone has had this problem and knows how to fix it I would be very greatful.

Thanks:beer:

I have this problem sometimes also, for me its pretty random and probably has something to do with the hardware resources. Like RAM maybe? Maybe your video card driver?

I was just having tons of problems with my new Geforce4Ti and it turns out there is a driver you need to use for it thats not the regular up-to-date Nvidia one. I found it by searcing Nvidia site for Maya, and turns out they have a Alias apporved driver that fixed all my problems. One of which was bad playblasts.

Good thing. I thought the card was busted and was about to return it to the vendor.

It's an XP thing. XP looses focus on the Maya window, so the hardware rendering that occurs when doing a playblast gets interrupted.

i had the same issue, in my display properties, i set the themes to Windows classic and it worked fine.
Also if u are using Nvidia, in the properties, set it to Win 2000 compatible, that should do the trick too. Cheers.

Thanks for all the help. I'm really finding that it's just random if I restart maya and just change it so that it saves the file somewhere that it works eventually. I think it's probably just a driver issue or a problem in windows.

Thanks for the help.
