I purchased the CR2 loader, the morph target and the conformer two weeks ago.

The plugin works good with Vicky 2 and less complex models if you just want to import them.

The models import with all the textures in place but sometime, you have to adjust the props position.

The animations import through the morph target is unstable and sometimes kicks you out of C4D.

The bones require a lot of work before they deform the mesh properly. You have to set the weighting by hand.

I am currently working on a 2 min animation with the eagle from DAZ and I'll let you know how it goes.

HI,
Ive thourghly investigated the Greenbriar plugins,By asking user of the plugin,
and Im saddened to report its not much of a direct poser to C4D solution IMHO
It opens a "Cr2"{ the core format of a poser rig) and converts it to
A rigged mesh in cinema HOWEVER the weightmaps it creates are frankly worthless and will need to be re-asssigned manualy.
you get a boned poser figure standing in Cinema in the default "arms out"
position.

I am told if you bend any of the limbs the mesh Breaks
as you would expect any improperly fixed mesh to tear
untill all of the vertix wieghts and restriction
tags are properly set:rolleyes:

You will need to buy the Pro Morph system along with Cr2 if you want full control of your model in C4d. It gives you sliders for every morph in your Poser project.

Havent used it myself, but considering buying it.

jddog wrote a very fine tutorial on importing Poser meshes and materials into Cinema8.5. You can find it in the c4d section of

http://www.renderosity.com/freestuff.ez

Looks like hair is the problem. Word goes that has to be exported in Lightwave-format.

I sprung for the entire set. I am very happy with the plugins. They all work as advertised. The developer promised more refinement of the vertex weight mapping. But I think he's busy finishing up his Maya version first. I must admit I had to read his manuals 3 or 4 times before I finally figured out all the features.

The Claude Bonet tools make tweaking the weight maps much easier, if you have Mocca. Also, the Bonderland Plugins have an Auto Mapper function that's pretty handy. You can get it and more information, here:

http://c4dplugins.idea-graphics.de/BL/

The Tag Manager plugin makes blending weight maps much easier. They bundle a Lite version with Bonderland.

Once you have a Poser rig set up, you can copy it to any similar mesh, without having to rework the weights every time you import.

I have rigged/wieghted poser figures manually back in C4D version 6
have you ever tried actually animating one of these Cinema rigged poser
figures within cinema??:hmm:

NOT a gratifing experience as you cant see any real time feedback
or edit timing/motion in a Dopesheet like in motionbuilder or Poser or Character studio for MAX:scream:

Im Glad Daves(greenbriar) plugins work for your workflow but I cant justify the cost of a promising "half measure" that leaves me still setting vertex weights by hand.
I could just as easily export a one frame BVH file from poser and have C4DXL createan aligned skeleton with all of the bones already named the same as the poser guys polygon groups
and start weighting from there.

The best would be if Reiss-Studio and/or CL got their act together and released an update for the ProPack plugins...
