Render a seperate image/animation where your glowing bits are solid white and everything else is solid black (and your glass bits are fully transparent, no reflection or specularity).
This will make an effective key mask for the glow. Bring it into DFX+ or paint program.. dialate the eges a few times, blur it.. then composite that on top of your original render in screen or additive mode.. bingo.. glow.
